CARRETTE

Antoine-Michel CARRETTE (1772-????), captain to the imperial body of the genius, knight of the Empire by letters patent of 10 September 1808. Regulation of coats of arms:

Tierced as bends Azure, Gules and Argent; Azure, a chevron Or accompanied of three mullets also Or; Gules charged of the mark of knights of the Legion of Honour; and Argent to the lion supported on two clubs, the whole Sable, on a terrasse Vert.

CARRIÉ

Augustin CARRIÉ (1764-1838), brigadier general, baron of the Empire by letters patent of 26 April 1810. Regulation of coats of arms:

Quarterly: to the 1st, Or to the crescent Azure surmounted of two mullets of the same; to the 2nd, military barons; to the 3rd, Gules to the helmet in middle fess point Argent, accompanied of two branches of laurel of the same; to the 4th, Or to the lion passant Sable.

CARRIÉ CANCÉ

Bernard CARRIÉ CANCÉ (1762-1827), sub-prefect of the district of Espanion, member of the body of electors of Aveyron, knight of the Empire by letters patent of 11 September 1813. Regulation of coats of arms:

Per pale: to the 1st, couped Azure to the crescent Argent between two mullets of the same, and Or to the passant lion Sable; to the 2nd, Azure, 2 branches Argent, set in saltier, that in dexter of oak, that in sinister of olive tree; a bordure Azure charged of the mark of the knights of the Meeting set at 2nd point in chief.

CAREER

François CAREER (1749-1826), colonel, director to the imperial body of artillery, knight of the Empire by letters patent of 6 September 1811. Regulation of coats of arms:

Azure to the high sword in pale Argent, accompanied in dexter and in sinister of a mullet of the same; , a chevron Gules charged of the mark of knights of the Legion of Honour debruising over all.

CAREER OF BEAUMONT

Jean-Louis-Christian CAREER OF BEAUMONT (1771-1813), brigadier general, baron of the Empire by letters patent of 26 October 1808. Regulation of coats of arms:

Per fess: to the 1st, per pale Vert and Gules; Vert to the pyramid Argent couped and Gules, mark of the military barons; to the 2nd, Argent to the sphinx Proper issuing from dexter flank on a shelf of granite Proper.

CARRION-NISAS

Marie-Henri-François-Elisabeth of CARRION-NISAS (1767-1842), adjudant-commanding, chancellor of. the 9th troop of the Legion of honour, baron of the Empire by letters patent of 2 November 1810. Regulation of coats of arms:

Per pale of a feature, per fess of two; to the 1st, Azure to the cross Or; to the 2nd, military barons; to the 3rd, Azure, 3 towers Argent, 2 and 1, open, windows and masoned Sable; to the 4th, Azure, a bend Or on the sinister is set of a lion of the same; to the 5th, Azure to the comet Or; to the 6th, Azure to the tower Argent, open, windows and masoned Sable, a narrow chief charged with Gules three helmets in profile Argent; and over all, Azure to the tower Argent turretted of three turrets of the same, opened, windows and masoned Sable.

CARTIER

Hippolyte CARTIER (1770-????), chief of battalion to the 7th light, knight of the Empire with majorat by letters patent of 12 November 1809. Regulation of coats of arms:

Gules, chape Argent; Gules charged of the mark of knights of the Legion of Honour; Argent, 2 grenades Sable in fess bright and inflammed Gules, surmounted of a narrow chief Azure to the sword in fess Or, base in dexter.

CASABIANCA

Raphaël CASABIANCA (1738-????), major general, titular senator of the senatorery of Ajaccio, count of the Empire by letters patent of 26 April 1808. Regulation of coats of arms:

Quarterly: to the 1st, counts senators; to 2nd and 3rd, Gules to the tower surmounted of a guérite Argent having in dexter a cypress tree Sable langued Argent; to the 4th, Gules, 3 hilts Argent placed 2 and 1.

New letters of count of the Empire on 5 October 1808. Regulation of coats of arms:

Quarterly: to the 1st, counts senators; to the 2nd, Gules to the tower Argent embattled of five pieces, towered in sinister guérite Argent and on the dexter is set of a cypress tree Or; to the 3rd, Gules to the pine Or towered of a dove Argent; to the 4th, Azure to the scimitar Argent, poigné and verolled Or.

Title of peer for life by the ordinance of 4 June 1814. Title of peer cancelled by the ordinance of 24 July 1815. Title of hereditary count, confirmed in favour of the same, by letters patent of 24 March 1817. Regulation of coats of arms:

Per pale; to the 1st, Gules to the tower Argent, embattled of five pieces, towered in sinister guérite Argent and on the dexter is set of a cypress tree Or; to the 2nd, Or to the pine Proper, towered of a dove Argent.

Title of peer restored in favour of the same, by the ordinance of 19 November 1819, like hereditary baron peer (without majorat of peerage).

Title of hereditary count confirmed on reversion in favour of the grandson, François-Xavier OF CASABIANCA, senator, by imperial decree of 5 November 1869.

CASAMAJOR of ONEIX

Joseph of CASAMAJOR of ONEIX (1745-1824), owner, baron of the Empire with majorat by letters patent of 19 June 1813. Regulation of coats of arms:

Per fess: to the 1st, Azure to a lion rampant and facing the sinister Or; to the 2nd, Argent, a chevron Gules, accompanied of three roses of the same, 2. 1; to the quarter of the barons owners.

Transmission of the title and majorat of baron hereditary confirmed in favour of the only son Pierre-Joseph OF CASAMAJOR Of ONEIX, by ministerial order of 16 February 1852.

CASELLI

Charles-François CASELLI (1740-1828), senator, cardinal-priest of the holy Roman Church, bishop of Parma, count of the Empire by letters patent of 3 May 1809. Regulation of coats of arms:

Per pale: to the 1st, Azure to a M Gothic Or interlaced of an S of the same and surmounted of seven lilies Argent; to the 2nd per fess, 1st, Azure to the house Or port and windows Sable and 2nd, Argent to the rake Gules; to the quarter of the counts senators.
